Ensimag's Students a dit…

Report of the meeting of Thursday, March the 6th

First, the teacher gave the agenda:
1.Decide on guests (In person or in webcam)
2.Write letters of invitations
3.Fliers (advertisements)
4.Date
5.Make a blog

Bassem was the president of the meeting.
He started with the decision concerning the guests.
Everybody gave names of interesting people for the conference and their function.
Then, it was said that we need people for the nuclear weapons, and that it would be interesting to have different categories of people (scientists, politicians, writers...).
We decided that every student will have to write a letter for one of the possible guests, because some may not respond or may not be able to come.

And it was said that if some people can’t come because the travel is expensive and travel by plane means a big reject of carbon dioxyde. And the members of Pugwash for example are very careful with ecology.

So, this is the list of the guests to whom we decided to write a letter to invite them and the names of the students who have to write these letters.

M.Boileau (ecologist candidate at Grenoble municipal elections)
Valentin

J.J.Salomon (French writer)
Romain

C.Soule (French writer)
Jeremie

C.Meyer (French writer)
Bassem

D.Leglu (director of Sciences & Avenir)
Sabrina

J.Schneider (Professor in the CNAM)
Maher

R.Remusino (Secretary general of Pugwash conference)
Maxime

S.Batsanov (Member of Pugwash in Geneve)
Justine

H.Morin (French defence minister)
Medhi

C.Naughton (Film director of Anthropology 101)
Christophe

J.Finney (Physics teacher at London University)
Christophe

J.Chirac (previous French president)
Valentin

And Medhi may have names of scientists who work on nuclear weapons at University J.Fourier in Grenoble for the next meeting.

And the teacher suggested to invite members of nuclear weapons companies.

The second subject was the date of the conference.

At first, students preferred the first part of May. But the teacher said that in May it would be difficult to have a room in the ENSIMAG, so the first part of June would be a better date. The problem for the student is that there will be the “Projet C” in June.

And concerning the place of the conference, some students said that the amphitheatre Weil would be too big for the conference, and that it would be better to do the conference in the ENSIMAG, where the participants won’t have the feeling that there is nobody to listen to them.

To finish, the teacher asked Sabrina to create a blog for the conference.

After this debate, the teacher showed us how to write a business letter.

And for the next meeting, everybody has to write a letter for the guest he chose.
